Dear all
Further to Alison's message, I would like to add the following:
As you will know, we meet again on Monday and we will start looking at Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle. The livestream link will be https://www.youtube.com/ live/0U-PFwp8Om0.
Please hold on to your carol sheets if you have still got them.. This will save on printing next year!
Some of you might be interested in joining Michael Butterfield's Zoom meeting. The Chairman of the Elgar Society says: "Looking forward to the New Year, we have the first of our online talks, entitled "Sounds like Elgar", with Michael Butterfield who goes in search of Elgar's musical fingerprints. Sam Dobson writes, "Michael asks, what exactly do we mean when we say an unknown piece of music sounds like Elgar? He will investigate this intriguing question with the aid of many musical examples." The event will take place on Zoom on Saturday 3 January 2026 at 2pm and the link to join the meeting is: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/ 89637535751. The meeting ID is: 896 3753 5751. All are welcome."
Here is the latest news of overnight road closures: https:// a38andbswactivetravel. commonplace.is/news/overnight- closures-on-a38-gloucester- road (after 8pm). I attach the map which is posted on that page. The diversion goes round the back roads but some members may prefer to go home via Falfield and the M5.
Happy New Year.
