Dear all
Well done to everyone who joined our Workshop last Saturday. As Alison said, that was a thrilling occasion and many thanks go to Steven and Robin for a really good day. The young soloists were amazing and made the day even more memorable. Some of you have been asking for their names. They were: thornburychoralsociety.org.uk/ dbpage.php?pg=view&dbase= albums&id=37.
Here is a message from Marjukka which I sent out last week. (She came with her choir from Finland to last year's workshop):
Here are a couple of quotes we've received from attendees:
Just to say thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable day - the best Come and sing ever. (PL)
Please convey my thanks to the choral society for a delightful day. It takes a lot of hard work from many to make it such a success and it was much appreciated. (AM)
Next Monday, we will be rehearsing Et resurrexit (page 129), Agnus Dei (page 193) and the second Kyrie (page 11). We will also be rehearsing Panis angelicus as part of our occasional repertoire. I attach a copy for those of you who have not got one. Plese print it out if you can. The livestream link will be: https://www.youtube.com/live/ FRt9ESjI4Qo.
I am sorry that most of you did not receive last week's weekly email. I have asked the Making Music Platform for an explanation and hope it won't happen again. If you missed it, at last Monday's rehearsal we looked at the Credo and Et resurrexit, and the livestream link was: https://www.youtube.com/l ive/YtimhuoRC_E. We also rehearsed Bruckner's Locus iste as part of our occasional repertoire. If you haven't got a copy of this, I attach one for you to print off.
Do let me know if you do not receive the weekly email by Saturday, but you can always find the latest one here, if you do not receive it or lose it: https://www. thornburychoralsociety.org.uk/ dbpage.php?pg=wemail.
All our repertoire can be found on this page: https://www.thornburycho ralsociety.org.uk/dbpage.php? pg=learning&repgroup=Status. This includes our occasional repertoire with pdf scores which you can find by scrolling down that page.
This is a reminder that rehearsal aids for the Rossini can be found here: https://www. thornburychoralsociety.org.uk/ dbpage.php?pg=view&dbase=rep& id=86.
Some of you will already know about the Belshazzar's Feast project. This is an opportunity for any of us to take part in a performance of Walton's Belshazzar's Feast in the Bristol Beacon on Sunday 4 April 2027. I attach a poster and invitation with more information. Please put it in your diaries if you are interested.
Lastly, here is the latest on the roadworks on the A38: https:// a38andbswactivetravel. commonplace.is/news/a38-next- phase-to-start.
Best wishes,

Here is a message from Marjukka which I sent out last week. (She came with her choir from Finland to last year's workshop):
"A year has almost gone from our trip to Thornbury. It was unforgettable and we often talk about it when we meet. I am glad Pamela will be joining you this year, even if we others could not. There has been a lot going on in the choir but also in the lives of many of us. Who knows what the future will bring next year!
We hope you will have a great workshop and a lot of singers coming to it. And of course, a great success in recruiting new members through it.
And that all of you have a wonderful time! Please give our regards to all!"
